The Woodland Garden
Edging the woods, the Woodland garden was designed to be both protected and productive. A single corten steel bed with oversized trellises forms the centerpiece, creating room to grow vertically on all sides. In spring, peas climb seven feet high; by midsummer, tomatoes take their place, turning the trellis into a living wall of abundance.
To maximize yield in a modest footprint, an adjoining in-ground bed was added for fruit and cut flowers, creating a garden that supports both the table and the vase. A custom deer fence frames the entire space, ensuring that every harvest is safely tucked inside.
Though compact, this garden produces generously — from jars of homemade salsa to spinach saved in the freezer — proving that even small spaces can support a true garden-to-table lifestyle.
